Ceredigion households can claim £200 one-off payment to help with fuel costs

Eligible households can claim a one-off payment of £200 to help them pay their fuel costs.

In Ceredigion, more than 6,500 residents have received a payment to help with their living costs, so make sure you don’t miss out on yours.

The Winter Fuel Support Scheme was launched by Welsh Government and is open to households where the applicant or their partner is responsible for paying the energy bills and is in receipt of benefits.

If the applicant or their partner who is liable for the fuel costs does not receive any qualifying benefits, then they may still be eligible for a payment if a qualifying person lives with them.

Find out more about the qualifying criteria and check if you are eligible on the Council’s website: Winter Fuel Support Scheme

Councillor Gareth Davies, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Finance and Procurement Services, said: “It’s encouraging that many Ceredigion residents have already taken advantage of this important scheme. I would like to encourage anyone who think they might be eligible to check the qualifying criteria and apply before the closing date on 28 February, and to tell their friends and family.”

Applications can be made up until 5pm on 28 February 2023 on the Council website: Winter Fuel Support Scheme
