Charity golf day raises nearly £3K for Wish Fund

A CHARITY golf day which took place on Friday 19th May at Glynhir Golf Club, Llandybie has raised a fantastic £2,775 for the Wish Fund.

The Wish Fund is a campaign run by Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, and supported by Scarlets Rugby. The campaign raises funds which enablethe Paediatric Palliative Care Service to create lasting memories for the children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and their families.

Organiser Rhys Kemp, who works for the Health Board, was overwhelmed by the support for the event and the amount of money raised.

Rhys said: “The fundraising was very successful with positive feedback received from all who attended.

“We raised a lot more than expected. The support I received from Robert O’Connell and Paul Evans was greatly appreciated as they gave me the freedom and help to make the event a huge success. I would also like to thank all the Estates and Compliance staff who attended as well as contractors for supporting the event – and hopefully supporting it in the future.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
