Chief Exec of Child Poverty Action Group responds to Welsh Gov child poverty strategy

RESPONDING to the Welsh Government’s new child poverty strategy, chief executive of Child Poverty Action Group Alison Garnham said:

For the twenty eight per cent of children in poverty in Wales, implementation of this strategy can’t come too soon. It’s disappointing that the plan doesn’t include targets for measuring its progress but it’s an important first step with its focus on getting cash to families and truly cost-free education for all kids. With child poverty strategies now up and running in both Wales and Scotland, Westminster must urgently step up and follow suit.
