Cloudflare Outage Temporarily Blocks ChatGPT, X, and Other Web Services

Cloudflare, a leading web infrastructure and security company, is currently experiencing service disruptions impacting several of its platforms, including the Cloudflare Dashboard, Access, WARP, and broader application services. Some customers have reported difficulties logging in or using these services.

The outage has also affected third-party applications that rely on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Most notably, users of ChatGPT reported errors accessing the web interface. While OpenAI’s core AI backend likely remains operational, the ChatGPT web interface relies on Cloudflare for delivery, content distribution, and security, meaning that the outage temporarily disrupted user access. Other affected platforms include X (formerly Twitter), Spotify, and Canva, highlighting the broad impact of Cloudflare’s services in web infrastructure.

During the incident, WARP access in London was temporarily disabled, preventing users in the region from connecting to the internet via the service. Cloudflare has since re-enabled WARP access, and error levels for Access and WARP users have returned to normal.

Cloudflare confirmed that a fix has been implemented to restore the dashboard, and partial recovery has been achieved for Access and WARP users. However, some application services continue to experience disruptions as Cloudflare works to fully resolve the issue. The company is actively monitoring systems to ensure all services are restored and urges users to consult the Cloudflare Status Page for real-time updates.

No details have yet been provided regarding the root cause of the outage, though reports indicate that traffic disruptions across Cloudflare’s network affected multiple customer-facing applications.
