Luncheon club raises over £3K for Chemotherapy Day Unit at Bronglais Hospital

BARCLAYS North & Mid Wales Welfare and Luncheon club have raised a fantastic £3,350 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Bronglais Hospital.

Barclays North & Mid Wales Welfare and Luncheon club is a passionate committee which organises and supports a variety of social events.

The club walked from Chirk to Knighton, which was approximately 36 miles, over three days to raise the funds.

Mark Powell, Charity Fundraising Lead for the club, said: “We walked, trekked and climbed the three stages of the Offa’s Dyke trail with a total climb of 6200 feet. Almost the equivalent of climbing Snowdon twice!

“It was really hot, but we had a fantastic support team.

“A huge thank you to everyone for your encouragement, sponsorship and donations.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
