Police advise alternative route for football fans in North Road incident update

South Wales Police is investigating a serious road collision in the North Road area of Cathays, Cardiff, earlier today.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.49pm.

One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and a white van has been seized for examination.
The man’s family has been informed.

There have been no arrests and enquiries are on-going to identify the person who was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and obtaining CCTV to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The road is likely to remain closed for some time.

Anyone attending this evening’s Wales football game at the Cardiff City Stadium is advised to consider alternative routes into the city.
