School issues statement over tragic death of pupil 

Port Talbot’s St Joseph’s Catholic School and Sixth Form Centre has issued a statement regarding the death of a pupil at Aberavon Beach.

The statement says :“We are deeply saddened by the news of the tragic and unexpected passing away of one of our Year 11 pupils.  We have set up provision for support with the help of the NPT counselling service and our local clergy.”

“Our most sincere condolences and prayers go out to the family and friends of this wonderful young man and we are working to support the wider school community.”

The Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Cllr Steve Hunt, added: “Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with the family and friends of the young man who lost his life in this truly tragic incident.”
