Veterans man the Poppy stalls at St Elli Centre

Veterans and the Royal British Legion have been out in force selling poppies in Llanelli.

There has been  a stall at the St Elli Centre most years but with numbers of veterans diminishing it has been difficult to man stalls throughout other villages and towns around Carmarthenshire.

Cllr Rob Evans is a man on a mission when it comes to Remembrance Day. He is well known for his work at the Dafen Memorial and now as Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council he still spends some of his time selling poppies in Llanelli.

Dave Hurford caught up with Cllr Evans and Ray Batsford who were manning the stall and this is what Cllr Evans had to say:

More than 3,000 crosses have been planted in the grounds of Cardiff Castle. There was a service held at the castle  today which was  attended by the First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford MS.
