Wales Team qualifies for FIFA World Cup after 64 years

AFTER 64 years, the wait to reach another world cup is over and Carmarthenshire is ready to support and celebrate our national football team participating in the world’s biggest sporting event.

For the first time since 1958, Wales’s men’s team will be competing in the FIFA World Cup. Hosted by Qatar, 2022’s tournament will take place from November through December. With a projected global audience of 5 billion, Wales will find itself at the forefront of the world’s stage.

Wales kick off their campaign against the USA on Monday, November 21, then meet the challenge of Iran on Friday, November 25, before finally taking on our neighbour, England, on Tuesday, November 29 in the last game of the group stage.

Through sports, culture and art, Carmarthenshire County Council is ready to get into the hwyl of the world cup.
