Work van robbery in Cardiff

SOUTH Wales Police is investigating a robbery of a work van in Gabalfa, Cardiff.

At around 12.35pm today (Tuesday, October 31) we received a report that a van had been stolen from a driver on North Road, near the Gabalfa Interchange.

The van was found in Tyn Y Parc Place, Rhiwbina, within an hour of being stolen.

Fortunately, no one was injured, and enquiries are on-going to arrest the suspect.

Van and delivery drivers operating around Cardiff are advised to be vigilant following this and other similar recent incidents.

Delivery vehicles were stolen in Trowbridge on October 20 and in Tremorfa on October 22; On both occasions, keys had been left in ignition while the driver was making deliveries.

On October 22, information was received about a group of males acting suspiciously around delivery vehicles on Cathays.

Please keep an eye out for local delivery drivers and report suspicious behaviour to police as soon as possible.
