Swansea man jailed for series of theft from motor vehicle offences

A Swansea man has been jailed following a spate of theft from motor vehicle offences which took place in the Neath area.

33-year-old Daniel Franks, from Waun Wen, targeted vehicles in the areas of Caewern, Waunceirch, Bryncoch and Neath Abbey, with the incidents all taking place in April and May this year.

Franks has now been sentenced to ten months in prison.

Inspector Ryan Davies said:

“Daniel Franks repeatedly targeted unattended vehicles in the Neath area and caused great distress for the vehicles’ owners and their wider community.

“We thank the community for their support and patience, and for their sharing of intelligence, in what has been a challenging case involving a prolific offender.

“Daniel Franks was arrested following an increased police presence in the above areas. We hope those living in those areas are reassured in the knowledge that Daniel Franks is no longer on the streets.”
