Mae’r 1,098 o baneli wedi’u gosod ar ardal sy’n gorchuddio ychydig dros un erw. Nod y cynllun fferm solar 450 KW yw darparu trydan a gynhyrchir ar y safle yn uniongyrchol i safle Hafan Derwen, yr amcangyfrifir y bydd yn arwain at arbedion carbon blynyddol o 120.43tCo2e, ynghyd ag arbedion ariannol. Mae’r tir o amgylch yn cael ei ddatblygu i wella bioamrywiaeth gan ddarparu man i staff orffwys ac ymlacio wrth gael eu hamgylchynu gan fywyd gwyllt a fydd yn cael effaith gadarnhaol ar sut mae staff yn gweld eu gweithle ac yn cynnig seibiant o amgylchedd gwaith prysur. Mae’r prosiect solar yn un o’r mentrau sydd â’r nod o leihau ein hôl troed carbon. Bydd y prosiect yn cynhyrchu ynni adnewyddadwy ar y safle a hefyd yn creu man gwyrddach, cyfeillgar i’r amgylchedd ar gyfer staff gyda’r parc bio-amrywiaeth arfaethedig. “Dyma gam cadarnhaol arall eto i’r cyfeiriad o fanteisio ar ac archwilio datrysiadau ecogyfeillgar ac ynni-effeithlon ar draws safleoedd y Bwrdd Iechyd.” Mae’r prosiect fferm solar yn rhan o fenter datgarboneiddio’r bwrdd iechyd. Hywel Dda UHB installs its first solar farm
HYWEL Dda University Health Board’s (UHB) first solar farm has been installed at Hafan Derwen, located on the Parc Dewi Sant site. The 1,098 panels have been installed on an area covering just over one acre. The 450 KW solar farm scheme aims to deliver on-site generated electricity directly to the Hafan Derwen site, which is estimated to lead to an annual carbon savings of 120.43tCo2e, along with financial savings. Volunteers needed to help change lives in Carmarthenshire
THE ROYAL Voluntary Service in Carmarthenshire is encouraging more people in the area to discover the joys of volunteering whilst keeping their local community healthy and happy. The leading national volunteering charity provides invaluable social and practical support to people in need across the UK, including Carmarthenshire. One-way local volunteers improve the lives of people in Carmarthenshire is by offering a community transport service. Volunteer drivers help by taking clients to a community club, a regular appointment, by responding to ad-hoc requests for transport or returning them home after a stay in hospital. The team at Carmarthenshire Country Cars now needs more friendly volunteers to help them continue providing this life-enhancing support to vulnerable and isolated people in the area. Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to provide a pleasant journey, companionship and support to people going to and from their homes and destinations. Volunteer expenses are covered. However, it’s not just the people on the receiving end of the support that benefit from volunteering. As a result of donating their time, Royal Voluntary Service volunteers report better physical health, mental health, and wellbeing, with 81% of pandemic volunteers reporting an improvement in this*; new skills and work experience; and a sense of connection to others in their community….
