All three Carmarthenshire County Council country parks awarded Green Flag status

Building on the success of previous years, we are delighted to announce that Pembrey Country Park, Llyn Llech Owain Country Park, and, for the first time, Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park have all been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for 2023/24.

This award is internationally recognised as the mark of quality for publicly accessible parks and green spaces around the world.

In Wales, the awards scheme is run by environmental charity Keep Wales Tidy.

These parks are open for the public to experience the natural beauty of the county as well as providing opportunities for visitors to immerse themselves in nature through a wide range of recreational activities.

We owe a great debt of gratitude to our dedicated team, passionate volunteers, and our visitors who make these awards possible.

Cllr Gareth John, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure Culture and Tourism said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Green Flag Award for three of our beautiful green spaces.”

“In Carmarthenshire, we are lucky to have these spaces and we look forward to the opportunities that will come from these awards.”
