Carmarthenshire Council expands on ways residents can access cost-of-living support

CARMARTHENSHIRE County Council continues to expand on the ways residents can access cost of living support, with a range of information now available to residents registering births and deaths in the county.

A wide range of easy to access information targeted towards residents who may be experiencing sudden changes to their circumstances such as a growing family or losing a loved one, is now included within birth and death registration pack handed out by the registrar’s service.

This compliments the existing cost of living support provided throughout Carmarthenshire, which is available in person at the county’s customer service Hwbs in Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford, over the phone or online via the Council’s website.

Dedicated Hwb Advisors and Money Advice Officers are also on hand to provide tailored packages of support depending on an individual’s circumstances.

Support is also available for those living in rural communities through Hwb Bach y Wlad. This service provides targeted support to rural areas including Kidwelly, Llandeilo, Llandovery, Crosshands, Cwmaman, Laugharne, St Clears, Whitland, Newcastle Emlyn and Llanybydder.

Deputy Leader Cllr. Linda Evans said: “I’m delighted that we are continuing to expand on the range of support we offer to help residents with the cost of living, with many people experience tremendous changes to their circumstances when using our registrar’s service to register a birth or death.

“I would encourage anyone is not sure of what they may be entitled to or who may be in need of support to contact our friendly Advisors. There is a huge range of help and support out there for those who need it including single person council tax discounts if you’re the only adult in the home, blue badges, food bank referrals, childcare disability support payments and much more.

“Please reach out if you need support. We are here to help.”
