From the Courts June 27th

The following appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Jun 27).

44-year-old Stuart Lovering of Burry Port, Llanelli.

A domestic violence protection notice was served by a Constable on 25/06/2023. In accordance with section 27 Crime and Security Act 2010.

The order was granted and a Domestic violence protection order was made for 28 days.

Lovering was ordered to pay costs of £226.00 to Dyfed-Powys Police.

43-year-old Nicholas Lawrence Davies-Jones of Wokingham, Berkshire

The court heard that on 30/11/2022 a Jones drove a motor vehicle, on a restricted road, namely the A484 Cwmffrwd, Carmarthenshire, at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour. Contrary to sections 81(1) and 89(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988. The speed recorded by means of laser was 36 miles per hour. The speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200 yard intervals.

Jones was fined £146.00 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £58.00 and costs of £90.00.

His driving record was endorsed with 3 points. The defendant’s guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.

42-year-old Mrs Jorjiana Qoro Philitoga of Amanwy, Bryn, Llanelli.

The court heard that on 05/12/2022 Philitoga drove at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour in contravention of a Local traffic Order, namely The County of Carmarthenshire (Imposition of 20 mph speed limit) Order 2018, Contrary to the above Local Traffic Order and sections 84 and 89(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

Philitoga was fined £40.00 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £16.00 and costs of £90.00. Her driving record endorsed with 3 points.

23-year-old Miss Cerys Nia Pritchard-Foreman of Garden Suburbs, Trimsaran.

The court heard that on 05/12/2022 Foreman drove a motor vehicle namely,  Bryn School, at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour in contravention of a Local traffic Order, namely The County of Carmarthenshire(Imposition of 20 mph speed limit) Order 2018 Contrary to the above Local Traffic Order and sections 84 and 89(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

Foreman was fined £146.00 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £58.00 and costs of £90.00.

Her driving record endorsed with 3 points.

28-year-old William Joshua Hughes of Trinity Music School, Llanelli

The court heard that on 16/11/2022 Hughes used a motor vehicle, on a road, or other public place, namely Llandafen Road, Llanelli, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance Contrary to section 143 of, the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to, the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

The case was proved using a Single Justice Procedure.

Hughes was fined £660.00 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £264.00 and costs of £90.00.

Hughes was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 6 month(s).
