Llanelli MP asks for meeting with Home Secretary to discuss Stradey Park Hotel plans

Dame Nia Griffith MP has asked the Home Secretary to meet her to hear about the concerns and to explain what she is doing to clear the backlog of claims for asylum seekers.

Posting on her Facebook page Dame Nia Griffith MP said: “Not just the immigration minister, but now the Home Secretary is avoiding committing to meet me to hear our concerns re their proposal to use Stradey Park Hotel for asylum seekers: they are scrabbling around for more hotels because they are failing to get the backlog of asylum claims sorted, so that those from safe countries could be sent home, and genuine refugees could settle in small numbers into suitable communities.”
