Llanelli resident must pay £775.25 for failing to comply with requirement of waste collection authority

25-year-old Sophie Harrison of Delabeche Street Llanelli appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Friday (Jul 14) after failing, without reasonable excuse, to comply with a requirement imposed by a waste collection authority in Wales, namely Carmarthenshire County Council, under section 46(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 in that the time when the receptacles must be placed and removed was not complied with. Contrary to section 46(6) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

The court heard that on 08/12/2022, Harrison failed without reasonable excuse, to comply with a requirement imposed by a waste collection authority in Wales, namely Carmarthenshire County Council in that the time when the receptacles were required to be placed and removed was not complied with.

Ms Harrison was found guilty and was fined £40 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and  costs of £703.24. The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence.

In total, Ms Harrison was ordered to pay £775.24.
