REMEMBRANCE Services were held across Wales to mark the 11th hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when the guns fell silent across the battlefields of Europe.
The service outside Llanelli Parish Church was attended by representatives from the armed forces and civic dignitaries who placed wreaths at the foot of the Celtic cross in the churchyard.
Prayers were said on behalf of the fallen servicemen and women who so bravely made the ultimate sacrifices. The names of the fallen were read out by pupils from St Michael’s School.
At exactly 11 o’ clock the standards were lowered and a minutes silence was observed.
This year in the minds of many people will be on the troubles in Ukraine which has destroyed so many lives.
