Appearing before His Honour Mr Justice Griffiths at Mold Crown Court this morning, Ryan Wyn Jones from the Corwen area was told he must serve a minimum of 20 years. He was also sentenced to two years for a charge of S20 Assault, and six months for possession of a bladed article in a public place. All sentences will run concurrently.

Jones left his victims fighting for their lives in what was described as a ‘cocaine fuelled brutal, sustained attack’ which resulted in the tip of the knife he used lodged in the skull of one victim.

Speaking after today’s sentencing, Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Myfanwy Kirkwood said: “We welcome the sentence that His Honour Mr Justice Griffiths has handed down today.

“The crimes that Ryan Wyn Jones committed were truly horrific and the ordeal of terror that his victims went through is something that no person should ever have to experience.

“The victims should have felt safe in their own home and if help had not been sought by a child, the outcome may have been very different.

“Ryan Jones’ actions will have a lasting impact on his victims, and I commend their bravery in coming forward to seek justice.”

North Wales Police is committed to tackling violent crimes, and any report of such incidents will be treated as a priority. Live Fear Free can be contacted on 0808 801 0800
