ALEXANDER Wilkinson, from Birchgrove, Swansea, was arrested for a public order offence at last season’s Cardiff City v Swansea City game at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Throughout the game, the 41-year-old was seen to goad, verbally abuse, and gesture towards opposing fans.
Wilkinson, who has previously been subject to a three-year Football Banning Order, also attempted the breakthrough the segregation line between home and away fans.
On September 5, he appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to a Section 5 Public Order Offence and was issued with a five-year Football Banning Order.
As part of the order, Wilkinson must not enter any premises for the purpose of attending any football matches in the United Kingdom which are regulated for the purposes of the Football Spectators Act 1989.
When football matches are being played outside the United Kingdom, he must report to a named police station and surrender his passport.
He is also banned from entering any town or city where Swansea City Football Club or the Wales team are playing.
PC Christian Evans, from South Wales Police, said: “The overwhelming majority of people who attend the Cardiff City Stadium behave responsibly and enjoy a safe experience.
“But whenever there is evidence of football-related disorder we always pursue those responsible in order that appropriate action is taken.
“I hope this court results sends out a clear message that similar behaviour will not be tolerated at the Cardiff City Stadium.”
