Cig oen o Sir Gar ar ei ffordd i America

Caiff cig oen o Gymru ei allforio i’r Unol Daleithiau heddiw, am y tro cyntaf mewn dros 25 mlynedd.

Mae’r llwyth wedi ei brosesu yn Dunbia, Llanybydder.

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru law yn llaw â Hybu Cig Cymru wedi gweithio’n galed i sicrhau bod cig oen o Gymru’n cael croesi’r môr i UDA unwaith eto.

Mae mewnforion cig oen o Brydain eu gwahardd yn America yn dilyn achos o Enseffalopathi Sbyngffurf Buchol (BSE).

Dywedodd y Gweinidog Materion Gwledig, Lesley Griffiths:

“Mae Cymru’n cynhyrchu cig oen sydd gyda’r gorau yn y byd, ac mae’n newyddion da iawn fod pobl America bellach yn cael ei flasu.

Mae hwn yn hwb mawr i’r diwydiant. Mae cael gwerthu i farchnadoedd UDA wedi bod yn destun ymdrech hir i ni, a chodwyd y mater gan Lywodraeth Cymru a Hybu Cig Cymru gydag awdurdodau America dros ddegawd yn ôl. Hoffwn ddiolch yn fawr i bawb sydd wedi gweithio’n galed i wireddu’r uchelgais hwn.”
