22-year-old Jack Murphy Bennett of Cradoc Close, Brecon appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (Aug 18).
The court heard that on 24/02/2022 at Powys Bennett drove a motor vehicle on a restricted road, namely the A470 Llyswen, at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour Contrary to sections 81(1) and 89(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
The speed recorded by means of Laser was 42 miles per hour. The speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200 yard intervals.
Bennett was fined £440.00 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £44.00 and costs of £90.00. His driving record endorsed with 4 points.
