Masked criminals attack office of Llanelli MS

LEE Waters MS for Llanelli has taken to social media to condemn what he alleges are the actions of people involved in the protest at the Stradey Park Hotel.

The Llanelli MS said:

“As well as setting fire to the Stradey Park Hotel on Sunday (in a stairwell on the hotel’s ground floor which thankfully the police were able to put out), masked criminals also attacked our office in Llanelli and tried to set it on fire – they smashed the windows with crowbars and threw in fireworks before running off.

WE SHOULDN’T ACCEPT THIS AS NORMAL IN OUR TOWN

The Llanelli MS says that a legitimate local protest has been infiltrated by very extreme elements. He said: “This is a situation the Conservative Home Office has allowed to develop in Llanelli and it needs to stop.”

The far-right watch group ‘Far Right Watch Wales’ have claimed that several people associated with the protest belong to extreme far right groups including the BNP, Defend Britain, the neo-nazi Patriotic Alternative and the English Defence League.

The far-right watch group allege that a number of protesters have faced criminal charges and have been convicted for threats and violence towards British muslims and  critics of the BNP. There are also claims that some involved in the protest have been convicted of  assault including stabbing and one relating to threats to murder Jeremy Corbyn.

Far Right Watch Wales  said:

“We sincerely hope then that WECTU, the body charged with monitoring dangerous extremists in Wales, are closely following events at the Stradey Park hotel. Especially in view of alarming developments over the weekend which saw a anti-asylum seeker mob (led by an activist from the neo nazi group Patriotic Alternative) occupying the hotel grounds, and reportedly trying to set off fires in the hotel itself, violating a high court injunction that is in place in the process.”

Six more arrests have been made as of October 5th with Dyfed-Powys Police saying that they anticipate more arrests being made as a result of the criminal damage and disorder over the weekend.
